Dr. Johnson, who proudly followed in his father's footsteps to become a chiropractor, has years of experience in this field. His chiropractic education took place at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois. In 1993, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from this institution; his Doctor of Chiropractic degree was awarded in December 1995. With roots in New Mexico — Dr. Johnson's family moved to Los Chavez in 1979 and he attended high school at New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) — Dr. Johnson returned to the state after graduation in order to work as an Associate Doctor.
Dr. Johnson also has a long history of military service. In 1989, while studying at the University of New Mexico (UNM), he earned his commission in the Army ROTC and became an officer in the Army National Guard. During his time at the National College of Chiropractic, he continued to serve in the Illinois Army National Guard and upon his return to the state, in the New Mexico Army National Guard. His military service included seven years of active duty. He was sent on four deployments (two of which took place overseas).
